HANKOOK TYRES will be the rubber of choice for competitors racing in the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour at the 2016 Bathurst Motor Festival.
Hankook has risen rapidly to be a leading supplier of motorsport tyres in Australia and New Zealand, providing control rubber to categories from Production Cars, NZ V8 Touring Cars, open-wheelers and an array of categories in between.
The brand has recently become a mainstay in tyre supply for Production Car racing at both a national and state level and as such will supply every car in every class in the first ever Bathurst 6-Hour on 25-27 March next year.
Hankook’s support of the Bathurst 6 Hour further will be cross-promoted and boosted by its non-motorsport marketing activities, such as the NRL and Hyundai A-League competitions.
“Like every competitor, Hankook is always excited to go back to Bathurst, a place with remarkable history and tradition and we’re excited to be part of a new one with the Bathurst 6 Hour,” enthused Hankook Motorsport Manager, Dean Evans.
“Hankook Tyre is proud and excited to be part of the Bathurst 6 hour event, where it can showcase the performance of its Ventus TD Z221 all-weather tyre.
“As Hankook’s premium R-spec tyre, the TD has proven itself fast and durable across production car racing categories and tarmac rallying, and all conditions from winning Time Attack in the heat of Queensland to winning stages in the cold climate of Targa Tasmania.
“In just five years, Hankook Tyre Australia’s competition department has grown from its launch in 2010 to be the number two motorsport tyre brand in Australia, with the Bathurst 6 hour signaling its 10th control tyre category.
“Putting aside V8 Supercars, Hankook is now number one motorsport tyre in Australia and New Zealand,”
The Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour will be contested by cars complying with CAMS Group 3E Production Car regulations in 2016.
It will be run in conjunction with the 2016 Bathurst Motor Festival, an annual Event that brings an array of racing categories to Mount Panorama and competitors whom otherwise might not have the chance.
“We are pleased that the Bathurst 6 Hour has attracted commercial support from high profile brands like Hi-Tec Oils and now Hankook in its first year,” Event Director James O’Brien said.
“Hankook has a proven product and also is a brand passionate about motorsport and maximising its involvement within it, which will only be helpful in getting this brand-new enduro off to the best possible start next year.”
