HYUNDAI IN OVERNIGHT REPAIR AHEAD OF B6HR DEBUT
ANOTHER CLASSIC Bathurst overnight repair has seen the No.8 N-Gen Racing Hyundai I30N repaired and returned to Mount Panorama ahead of the third practice session today. The car was badly damaged in a crash in the opening five minutes of practice one on Friday, with significant damage to the front chassis of the still new hot-hatch. While the team was initially uncertain that the car could be repaired, they removed it from the circuit to a workshop in Lithgow (which had the appropriate machinery to straighten the chassis rails) where they commenced repairs. Meanwhile, the team’s ‘spare’ donor road car was prepared at the circuit for replacement parts. The team worked through the day and returned to the circuit at 9pm, with the parts acquired from the spare vehicle bolted on. The car, which will see father and son duo Charlie and Alfie Senese joined by former Bathurst class winner Jake Camilleri, will run for the first time in practice three this morning. On debut at Mount Panorama, the sister car finished 4th in Class C on combined times in Friday practice, with a best of 2m47.9280s. The third practice session commences at 8:20am this morning (AET) ahead of qualifying commencing at 2:35pm. Live audio commentary will be avaialble via the Bathurst 6 Hour website.
