JARVIS BROTHERS READY FOR BATHURST
Brothers Ashley and Dion Jarvis are currently preparing for what will be their second Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour and their first as part of the Australian Production Cars.In 2017 the event doubles as the first round of the APC, with the brothers keen to make it to the flag after engine issues forced an early retirement in last year’s race.As well as plenty of work done to ensure the engine issues don’t rear their head once again on the Lighthouse Electrical/Jarvis Plumbing Ford Falcon Saloon Car, Ashley Jarvis has been putting in plenty of legwork around the Mountain of late – competing in February’s Bathurst 12 Hour aboard a Porsche Cayman GT4 – coming home third in class.Making it a real family affair for the team is the fact that the boys’ brother Brody Jarvis – who raced with them last year – will be their crew chief while their father Paul Jarvis will also be taking part in the event, driving alongside Brad Car in a separate Saloon car.”Having to retire early last year with the engine issues was certainly not what Dion or I wanted last year, and we were very disappointed with that result,” Ashley Jarvis said.”Since then, we have put plenty of miles of work in on and off the track to make sure that our Saloon Car is ready to go for this year’s Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour so we can look to not only make it to the finish line this time around, but also take home hopefully a good result for not only the race, but also the first round of the APC.”It is also pretty cool that dad will be racing in the race as well in another Saloon Car that we also have as part of our family team.”I ran with him in the APC last year as part of his comeback to the driver’s seat after many years behind the spanners – I can’t wait to see how he goes and hopefully as a family we can put together a strong campaign this year,” said 31 year old Gold Coast electrician, who thanked Lighthouse Electrical, Jarvis Plumbing, Charis Seafoods, Mortgage Mart and Ormeau Physio for their support of the campaign.The Jarvis entries will be just two of 66 cars to hit the track Mount Panorama across April 14-16 for the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour. The event doubles as the first round of a six-event calendar for the 2017 Australian Production Cars.
