Suzuki team set for Bathurst 6 Hour challenge

Newly formed SORTHARE Suzuki Racing Team will race a Suzuki Swift Sport at the 2018 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour, with the same combination from the 2017 B6HR with Michael Hopp, Peter Sortwell and Steven Pittman. After purchasing the Suzuki Swift Sport at the 2017 Australian Production Car Series (APCS) Phillip Island 4 Hour from GMC Motorsport Services (GMC Racing), Michael Hopp and Peter Sortwell formed SORTHARE Suzuki Racing Team with the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour and selected APCS rounds in mind.In the team’s first outing and preparation race for the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour, the Winton 300 in November 2017, the Suzuki Swift Sport took out a class (Division E) victory with a comprehensive winning margin of 1 lap and 7 seconds. With that excellent result behind the team, the focus is now the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour.”We have made some significant improvements to the Suzuki Swift Sport since the Winton 300 and with a large Class E field this year, we are looking forward to some close racing in the small class. It’s great we have been able to keep the same drivers together from our 2017 campaign, which is important from a consistency stand point”, Michael Hopp stated.”We have some fast cars in our class, so it will come down to strategy and ultra-slick pitstops to give us the competitive edge”, Michael continued.”I am just looking forward to putting on the race suit and getting back on track at Mount Panorama”, Peter Sortwell explained.”We are very excited to be competing once again in the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour. We will be making the trek from Western Australia to join with Peter Sortwell and Michael Hopp in making SORTHARE Suzuki Racing Team a formidable team”, Steven Pittman commented. For all the action at the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour, tune into FoxSports for LIVE coverage of the 6 Hour Endurance on Sunday 1st April 2018.
