KAVICH BROTHERS RACING FOR A CURE AT B6HR

Brothers and racing drivers, Ben and Michael Kavich are ‘Racing for a Cure’ in the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour over the upcoming Easter long weekend.Whilst a podium finish is in their sights, raising funds and awareness for breast cancer trials research is what drives them.Following Ben’s wife Toula’s breast cancer diagnosis in April 2016, the brothers know of the pain and heartache breast cancer inflicts on individuals and families.”We hope that through ‘Race for a Cure’, we can raise the funds needed to make more clinical trials possible, because it’s trials research that leads to more lives saved,” Ben said. “Despite wonderful advances in medicine, too many people still die from breast cancer or struggle through painful treatments and we want to do our part to change this.”Ben and Michael will take to the track in the number 15 Race for a Cure Mitsubishi Evolution 10. Decked out with largely pink livery, the car is sure to stand out on race day. The brothers are competing in their third Bathurst 6 Hour with high hopes of a podium result having started on the last row of the grid in the 2017 event and finishing second in Class B1 and tenth outright. This fantastic result was achieved in the underpowered Subaru Impreza STI using the strength of Garth Walden Racing’s car preparation along with solid driving and pit strategy.”The prospect of now competing in a competitive Class A1 car, again managed by Garth Walden Racing, along with the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour gaining popularity and momentum, is a mouth-watering prospect,” says Ben and Michael.”The Live Foxtel TV coverage of the event we hope will further boost awareness of the important research conducted by Breast Cancer Trials and ensure we beat our 2017 fundraising efforts by encouraging Easter Sunday TV viewers to support ‘Race for a Cure’.”The brothers have asked their sponsors and supporters to make a donation to Breast Cancer Trials at www.raceforacure.org.au. All donations are tax deductible and will support trials research to prove the safety and effectiveness of new breast cancer treatments and prevention.”We do breast cancer trials research because trials save lives, ” says Julie Callaghan, Chief Operating Officer – Fundraising, Breast Cancer Trials. “That’s why the funds raised by Ben, Toula, Michael and all those involved means so much to all those who will benefit from the research they’re helping to make possible.”To make a donation please visit www.raceforacure.org.au.
