Baird joins Spartan 1 HSV team for Bathurst return
The 2021 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour will see the return of Motorsport legend Craig Baird to Mount Panorama.
Baird’s return to the famous Bathurst circuit sees him pair with other high-profile names as Spartan 1 Motorsport gets ready to take on the mountain aboard their recently-acquired HSV GTS.

“Baird has competed extensively at Mount Panorama with many category wins and podium finishes under his belt and is a huge asset to the driver line up for our team,” said Team Owner Dee Pittman-White.
For the 2021 event, Spartan 1 has also secured Chaz Mostert’s Bathurst 6 Hour race winning engineer Nigel Bolling, who will spearhead the engineering at this year’s race.
Bolling was race Engineer for Craig Baird’s 2010 Bathurst 12 Hour win with Paul Morris and Gary Holt.
“Nigel brings next-level engineering and race experience to our team: To have an engineer on-board for the 6 Hour with Nigel’s experience is fantastic.
“Nigel will be joined by legendary supercars crew chief Wally Storey, of BJR, HRT and Coke Racing fame. Between Nigel and Wally there isn’t much these two haven’t experienced,” said Pittman-White.
In addition, the Spartan 1 Team have added accomplished NSW driver Scotty Cameron to their driver line up.
Scotty joins Steve Pittman for the 2021 event: both drivers enjoying extensive knowledge of the Mountain in various categories, with both drivers having appeared at the Easter enduro in 2017, 2018, and Steve in 2019, each with impressive podium finishes.
Baird and Cameron have also teamed together at the mountain back in 2014, with the duo taking out 2nd place in the HQ 1 Hour support race for the 12 Hour event.
“The addition of Scotty and Craig to the Team adds another string to our bow,” said Pittman-White.
“Scotty and Craig have a great relationship that will flow thought the entire team. I’m very excited with the line-up Spartan 1 have created heading to the Mountain for the 6 Hour event with the teams’ HSV GTS.”
The 2021 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour will be broadcast live on the screens of Seven this Easter long weekend (2-4 April).
