Slade, who returned to full-time Supercars competition with Cooldrive Racing last weekend at Mount Panorama, will join Carr aboard the latter’s newly-built BMW M3 for the Easter (2-4 April) event this year.

The duo will be entered in Class X for the fastest, outright-contending cars contesting the race.
Alongside his Supercars commitments, Slade has built a strong CV in long-distance racing including numerous starts in GT3 competition both here and abroad for the Asian-based Hub Auto Ferrari team.
The team has also announced support from Car Mods Australia and recently completed a successful test at Queensland Raceway in preparation for the race.
Car Mods Australia are personal supporters of Slade’s racing, which involves the multiple Supercars race winner regularly working with the team providing driver coaching, car setup and his own driving abilities to the squad.
“I am looking forward to learning a lot from Tim, he is a class act and extremely in-tune with the car and what is required to get the most out of it,” said team owner / driver Carr – who has prior success in BMW Production Cars at both a national and state-based level.
“The data and feedback from our first test day two weeks ago was invaluable, being able to bounce ideas off Tim provides a lot of confidence when working out car setup and driving style.”
Slade said he was looking forward to tackling the Mountain in a different style of vehicle to his usual ride.
The Queensland-based driver has several six-hour starts to his credit, but said he was keen to tackle the race with the Carr Motorsport crew.
“It’s going to be great to line up with Bradley and the team and have a crack at the Bathurst 6 Hour.
“It’s obviously something quite different from the Supercar or even the GT3 car, but any time you get laps at Mount Panorama is a bonus. It always an interesting challenge with more than 60 cars on the grid, lapped traffic and the strategy within our class as well.
“Brad has put together a really good team and the BMWs have been proven in the 6 Hour time and time again. I’ve really enjoyed working with the team and the car so far and I think we’re going to be in really good shape for when we get to Easter this year.”
The Carr Motorsport team will be contesting the outright class of this year’s Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour – amidst a field that includes former winners Sherrin Racing and a two-car BMW entry from Beric Lynton.
Several other high-profile competitors will be announced in coming days.
More than 60 cars are currently entered for the race, with entries closing this Friday (5 March).
