The team returns with a ramped up campaign that this year includes two Suzuki Swift Sport entries in Class E thanks to a partnership between Steve McHugh (S&S Motorsport) and Michael Hopp (SORTHARE Suzuki Racing Team).

The Mackay, Queensland-based Engineering firm TEAM Group have signed as the squad’s naming rights sponsor.

Steve McHugh and Michael Rice will be making their respective Bathurst debuts with seasoned campaigner Michael Hopp in the #43E Suzuki Swift Sport.

The car will run a with a tribute livery to Peter Brock’s 1969 Monaro #43D – the yellow striping across the roof and the yellow A-pillar to mark McHugh and Rice’s debut.

Meanwhile, a very experienced combination has been assembled to pilot the #46 Suzuki Swift Sport.

That car will feature Ian Cowley, Daniel Natoli and Matt Thewlis – all very fierce competitors set to make this combination hard to beat.

2021 marks the third consecutive 6-Hour for the Suzuki Swift Sport team and, along with a string of Australian Production Car Championship endurance and sprint round podiums, the team are looking for another strong result for the Suzuki Swift Sport.

“It would be wonderful for our sponsors to have a form finish with both Suzuki Swift Sport’s dressed in the same livery,” enthused Michael Hopp.

“We would love to cross the finish line first and second however, as with all endurance racing, it will require a number of factors to swing our way – especially with safety cars.”

The 2021 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour will be held on the Easter long weekend, 2-4 April.
