Entries open for 2024 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour

ENTRIES for the eighth running of Bathurst’s biggest Enduro, the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour, are now open.

Set for the traditional Easter long weekend (March 29-31, 2024) next year, the next instalment of the Production Car classic is likely to attract another bumper field.

Early bird entries are open until 29 October 2023 this year, while official entries close on 31 January 2024.

The Online Entry Form and 2024 Supplementary Regulations can be accessed from the official event website now.

The 70-strong capacity remains in place for this year with a reserve list in place should entries eclipse the number of spots on the grid.

Demand is again expected to be high with the growing strength of Production Car Racing on show throughout 2023 expected to continue into the new year.

Supplementary regulations have been released with consistency from prior years the key to the 2024 rules, with no major changes made.

MRF Tyres will remain the official control tyre and a major partner of the event.

59 cars from an initial entry list of 66 started the 2023 race, won by Simon Hodges and Jayden Ojeda in a BMW M4 Competition following a thrilling late race restart that saw the top three cars covered by less than five seconds as they crossed the line.

11 cars finished on the lead lap, equalling the race record, while an incident-filled six hours saw 112 laps and just over 695km completed over the duration.

BMW remain undefeated in Bathurst 6 Hour history and have locked out the podium for the last three consecutive races – however the influx of new Production Car machinery across all classes ensures the race remains wide open.

For instance, Ford’s domination of the Extreme Performance, Normally Aspirated class A2 – they have won the last three races in a row – is expected to be challenged by the advent of Chevrolet’s Camaro into local Production Car racing.

Strong competition throughout each class is expected once again with the race-within-a-race battles always a Bathurst 6 Hour highlight.

More than 16,000 people attended the 2023 event, while it was announced this year that major partner Hi-Tec Oils would extend their support through the 2026 event.
