Davison flies on Friday to top practice two
WILL DAVISON has flown to the top of the second practice session at the 2025 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 hour, lapping quicker than his own 2024 qualifying record aboard the BMW M3 Competition he shares with Tim Leahey and Beric Lynton.
The Shell V-Power Racing ace punched out a 2m21.8304s flyer mid-way through the 60m session to top the charts.
For the second time in two sessions the #1 BMW was second, Jayden Ojdea’s 2m22.3179s best just 0.4s behind Davison’s best.
Dean Campbell and Cameron Crick were third in their M2 while a late flyer from David Russell saw his Macpro BMW fourth.
An Aaron Seton flyer saw his Gomersall Motorsport Mustang top A2 class and finish a strong fifth outright, his 2m23.95 – five tenths quicker than the class qualifying record he set last year.
Having starred in practice one, Queenslander Oscar Targett jumped to sixth position late in the running, while Anton de Pasquale set the time that put his BMW shared with Amar Sharma and Grant Johnson seventh.
The Brock Giblin / Brandon Madden HSV GTS continued to punch strongly with an eighth placed result while Scott Gore, Steven Owen and Keith Bensley were second in A2 and ninth outright – the experienced six-hour combination once again aboard their Lexus coupe.
The Tyler Everingham / Michael and Hayden Auld BMW rounded out the top 10 outright runners in practice two.
Quickest of the A1 cars was the BMW M135i driven by Tim Colombrita and Michael Osmond, followed closely by the Gillis / Webster / Laws BMW M2.
Defending B1 class winners Team Buccini Racing topped their class in practice two, their brand-new BMW 340i driven by Karlie Buccini, Courtney Prince and Tabitha Ambrose topping the class and ending the session 18th overall.
The Commodore SSV of Tony Virag, Barry Sternbeck and Michael Ferns topped class B2, while Nathan Halsted and Patrick Navin topped Class C aboard their VW Scirocco R, ending up 44th outright.
The Class D pacesetter was once again the Tyler Cheney, Alice Buckley and Hayden Hume Toyota, leading the #22 Chris Wall, Andre Simon and David Thomsen.
The #20 Mazda 3 SP 25 of Andrew Jackson, Carter Fox and Adam Brewer topped Class E and ended up 61st outright.
