Team swap allows for rising stars to enter Bathurst 6 Hour

A LATE swap among two team cars has allowed a trio of young drivers the opportunity to tackle the 2025 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 hour – while also ensuring there will be one reserve entry on ‘hot standby’ for the race this weekend.

The Ford Mustang entered by Tyler Cheney, Graham Cheney & Paul Hadley was withdrawn on Wednesday to allow for their teams class D Subaru BRZ to enter in their place.

Tyler Cheney will remain behind the wheel, with fellow young-guns Alice Buckley and Hayden Hume sharing the driving duties.

The car was the first on the standby list for the race however will now take their place within the field thanks to the benevolent move by their teammates to allow for the young-guns to get experience on the Mountain.

However, the Mustang will remain on hot standby for the race with Graham Cheney and Hadley ready to race should there be a late withdrawal or incident in any of the three practice sessions scheduled across Friday and Saturday morning.

The car will be scrutineered today and will be prepared as if competing on Sunday, with the team able to take the place of a withdrawn car at any point up to qualifying on Saturday afternoon.

Both Hadley and Cheney Snr will also compete in the monster 41-car Trico Trans Am Series field this weekend, racing a pair of Chevrolet Camaros entered by IES Motorsport.

The Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour field remains at 72 cars one day out from the opening practice session commencing this morning.
