Crick Flies on Saturday Morning at Bathurst
Cameron Crick has blazed his way to the top of the timesheets in the third and final practice session for the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour in the DA Campbell Transport BMW M2 Competition.
Crick, sharing with Dean Campbell in the race, set a 2m 21.7549s to go more than a second quicker than Tim Leahey’s outright pole record of a 2m 22.904s from 2018, with cooler weather producing a fast track for final qualifying preparations.

Practice Three was a shorter 40-minute session, however the already reduced session time was only cut further as the red flags were brought out before anyone could set a flying lap for the second time in consecutive sessions.
The Class A2 Megalife Ford Mustang Mach 1 that had topped Practice Two ground to a halt up Mountain Straight on the out lap after an alternator lead came off with Ben Gommersall at the helm, though the car was repaired and able to complete three laps at a reduced pace.
The second red flag of the session flew just before the halfway mark of the session, as the Class E 1800 Lasagne/LK Diesel Services Mazda 3 of Andrew Jackman had a collision with another car across the top of the mountain.
The damage from the collision will likely see the Class E pacesetters from Friday miss qualifying later today, however the team are hopeful that there are enough spare parts in the paddock to get the car ready for the race tomorrow.
In the brief intermission between the two red flags, Jayden Ojeda and Will Davison provided the first indications as to how quick the session would ultimately be, both setting times in the 2m 23.2s range to be separated by just two hundredths of a second in their Class X BMW’s.
Crick then set his time after the red flag for Jackman, after Practice One pacesetter David Russell had initially bettered the Ojeda benchmark with a 2m 22.7037s in the McLennan Motorsport BMW M4.
In the classes, the Century21 Ford Mustang GT of Chris Delfsma/Rylan Gray/Ryan Casha set a 2m 26.5546s to finish as the fastest Class A2 entry in seventh outright.
The top Class A1 competitor was the Waltec Motorsport BMW M2 Coupe of Kent Quinn/Kynan Wu/Paul Blomqvist on a 2m 30.4047s in fifteenth outright.
In twentieth outright was the leading Class B competitor in the Team Buccini Racing BMW 135i of Karlie Buccini/Courtney Prince/Suzanne Palermo on a 2m 32.8527s.
In Class C, the Rent4Race BMW 330i of Cameron Laws/Elliot Cleary/Cody Gillis set a 2m 35.5781s to go fastest in 25th outright.
The BPRO/six80 Racing Toyota 86 of Alice Buckley/Jack Wood/Jaylyn Robotham set a 2m 40.3124s to go fastest in Class D in 32nd outright.
And in Class E, the Grit Photo/One Nine Media Mazda 3 of Tony Gardiner/Calvin Gardiner/Wil Longmore was fastest in 46th outright on a 2m 47.9895s.
Next up for the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour is qualifying, where the grid will be set for the rolling start at 11:45am tomorrow morning.
