Teenagers to tackle Bathurst 6 Hour
A PAIR of teenagers, including the son of a former Super2 title-winning team, are pairing up for the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour at Easter.
Aston Davis, 16, and Emily Caccaviello, 17, are teaming up with the experienced Steven Coe in a Subaru BRZ in Class D for Production Cars at next weekend’s Mount Panorama enduro.
A record field of 72 cars are set to take the start on Easter Sunday with the combination’s Subaru to be backed by ADR Global Food Group and All Access Hire.
They’ve picked one of the most competitive classes in the race, in which 14 cars have entered – only the Class A1 for forced induction Extreme Performance cars has more entries.
Davis is the son of Queensland-based Warren Davis, formerly Team Manager of Howard Racing.
The Howard Racing team won the 2006 Fujitsu Series with driver Adam Macrow and were a long-time competitor in the development class.
Davis Jnr is an apprentice carpenter who started racing motorbikes at age five and moved into car racing in Hyundai Excels partway through 2022. The 6 Hour is his first time racing at Bathurst.
Co-driver Caccaviello is a student studying to become a mechanical engineer who raced a half season in Excels last year and is competing in the Toyota 86 Scholarship Series this year as part of a four-car team run out of the Norwell Motorplex.
The Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour kicks off on Good Friday with opening practice.
