CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS TO CELEBRATE EASTER ON THE MOUNTAIN
THE BEST WAY for fans of motor sport to celebrate Easter is by becoming a volunteer at the 2015 Bathurst Motor Festival.200 volunteers are currently being recruited for the 3-5 April Event that will this year provide seven race and regularity categories and more than 360 competitors in a veritable feast for fans of the sport this Easter long weekend.Positions are available for both CAMS accredited officials – for positions like flag marshals – and non-accredited positions where formal training is not necessary yet support is still needed.All Event volunteers receive a three-day race pass, campground site, shirts, caps, meals and a complimentary guest pass – as well as the closest possible access to the cars, circuit and precinct possible.Details and nomination forms are still available online at www.bathurstmotorfestival.com.au.The Bathurst Motor Festival is proud to continue to support official Event charity, Legacy, by charging a bank note donation for admission on each day of the three-day Event. This has raised more than $35,000 for the charity throughout the last three years.Legacy provides services and support to Australian families suffering financially and socially after the incapacitation or death of a spouse or parent, during or after service in Australia’s defence forces.Legacy currently cares for approximately 90,000 widows and 1,900 children and disabled dependents throughout Australia.The bank note donation for entry to the circuit precinct includes access to all major spectator areas around the circuit including the top of the Mountain, the chase and pit straight.Spectators are also able to access the top of the pit lane building, wander the back of the garages and marquees in the paddock and also access the pit lane café’ for food and drinks throughout the weekend.Entries were recently confirmed for the 2015 Bathurst Motor Festival with a record number of cars set to compete across the seven race and regularity categories.363 entries – up 30 on the previous record number set last year – will see average field sizes in excess of 50-cars tackling races across the Easter long weekend.This year the Heritage Touring Cars – featuring genuine Group C and A cars from 1974-1992, many that actually raced at Mount Panorama in the Bathurst 1000 – join the program alongside a host of Bathurst Motor Festival favourites.Group N Historic Touring Cars, NSW Production Touring Cars, NSW Production Sports Cars, Porsche Club regularity, NSW Road Racing Club combined sedans class and the Holden-versus-Ford Saloon Car rivalry will offer big grids and competitive racing throughout the weekend.The 2015 Bathurst Motor Festival will be held over the Easter Long weekend (April 3-5) and features three days of affordable on and off track excitement at the famous Mount Panorama circuit.Entry to the circuit will be free to spectators with a bank note donation to official event charity, Legacy.For more information about the 2015 Event please visit www.bathurstmotorfestival.com.au
