Two key national categories, in the form of the opening rounds for both the Trans Am Cup series and the Battery World Aussie Racing Cars, will take centre stage this weekend.

The 27-strong Trans Am field includes defending champion Todd Hazelwood, who will mark the debut of his own brand-new racing team at Bathurst this week.

Bathurst 1000 podium finisher James Moffatt, Supercars full-timer James Golding, newcomer Jack Smith, returning drivers like Lachlan Evenett and Elliot Barbour plus young-guns Jarrod Hughes, Ben Gomersall and Alice Buckley are among but a few likely to make their mark this weekend.

The 24-strong Aussie Racing Cars grid will see a host of contenders line up in a bid to beat defending champion Kody Garland, who returns with the #1 aboard his KGR entry.

Three-time 2025 podium finisher Jack Boyd, Super2 racer Ayrton Hodson and Porsche racers Josh and Diesel Thomas are also likely contenders.

The event also will see a national champion crowned as the Fair Dinkum Builds Australian Saloon Car Nationals are staged across the weekend, pitting six-cylinder Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon racers from across Australia in their one and only major national event of the year.

The field – which includes a remarkable 21-strong contingent making the trek across Australia from the West – includes Super2 race winner and Supercars codriver Brad Vaughan among the key contenders this weekend.

The popular Circuit Excel class has again drawn a stacked grid of the nationally popular one-make racers, their field featuring drivers from every state of Australia.

Super TT’s Bathurst debut comes with a massive grid that includes everything from TCR cars – headlined by TCR Australia frontrunners Brad and William Harris – and everything from Mazda MX5s, Falcons and Commodores, Mini’s, Nissan’s, BMWs and more.

On-Track action commences on Friday with practice and qualifying throughout the day, with the first races early on Saturday morning.

Every support category will be covered within the extensive broadcast package on offer this year, with coverage on Fox Sports, Kayo and SBS throughout the weekend.
